How to edit saved game with DISE (PlayStation 3)

Note: Game Genie is NOT required anymore!

This video was made while DISE required Game Genie, but the only difference is that DISE won't ask you to use Game Genie now. :)

    2. Do I have to buy game genie to get a license from them and so that they can encrypt my save on dise?

    3. Until I figure out more about PS3 saves, I'm afraid that's the only option. The best thing I could do was to integrate Game Genie in DISE.

    4. What are the steps I need to do so game genie can encrypt my saves and make them playable once I buy game genie?

    5. After activating Game Genie with your key, DISE will take care of the rest automatically. DISE should ask you to use Game Genie when you save your modded game-save. :)

    1. Xbox, PC and PS3 are completely different systems with their own distinct ways of handling save data.

What you see in the video here was the best and only solution I could give you.

However, I think you should read this. :)

  4. Since Game Genie is not required anymore, I've updated this post. The video is still the same one, but the current steps are also pretty much the same. :)

    1. I'm not quite sure if I understood. What I meant was that you could use DISE as normally, just without the need for Game Genie. DISE had (needed) Game Genie-integration for a short while to support PS3.

  5. On PS3 I have had an issue with tweaks. I put the desired tweaks on my Logan character on riptide and had no problem but, when I put the same tweaks on my friends John character it makes it so he cannot use his fury. I have gone through and it happens any time I use just any single tweak. Is it possible that its just because of the characters I am using or am I missing something here?

    1. if you have the fury tweaks (ON) they work on: Logan, SamB. I don't know about the other's but i do know that they (DONT) work on jhon maybe because he has different fury then what the other characters did in dead island because he's new he will have different settings and all that and dise will probably not recognise it because the fury tweaks are probably built for dead island fury, and jhon wasn't in there. so that's my theory i hope it helped you.

  6. I take it this only works on riptide? Dead island does not give you the choice to save to a usb. Or is there something I am missing? BTW, congrats on all of your hard work and cracking the encryption.

    1. Hello! Thank you!

Sadly, the original DI game's saves are copy-protected. Riptide saves are not. If you have FTP access to your PS3, you can retrieve your DI saves.
